Weekday 3-course dinner and wine for 6 people in the dining room at Chef & the Farmer in Kinston, NC. Dinner is prepared by Chef Vivian Howard, who has been a semi-finalist for the prestigious James Beard Award in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, and is nominated again in 2015. Chef Howard has appeared most recently on a mini-series on PBS.
Working with a network of small farmers, Vivian creates a menu that changes some every week and highlights the region’s culinary traditions as well as its agricultural bounty. Everything from the bread to the ice cream is made in house and all summer long Chef & the Farmer’s kitchen staff puts up preserves, pickles and jellies to be enjoyed all year long.
