Health . . . It’s often taken for granted.
Yet for an estimated 100,000
hardworking people in Wake County who have no health insurance, paying
for a simple check-up at a doctor’s office is almost impossible.
Statewide, the percentage of uninsured North Carolinians increased by
almost 15 percent from 2000 to 2004. In Wake County, nearly 19% of
residents between the ages of 18-64 have no health insurance. The
majority of these patients, over 79%, reside in working households.
These are the patients we serve.
With the financial support of the medical community, area congregations, corporations, foundations, and thousands of individual donors, Alliance Medical Ministry provides primary care for more than 5,500 uninsured patients in a way that minimizes their use of emergency room services while maximizing the quality, continuity, and availability of the care they receive.
Our Mission . . . In direct response to the Lord’s call for compassionate ministry to the sick and needy, Alliance Medical Ministry provides affordable primary medical care to low-income, uninsured, working families in Wake County.
"You shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against our poor brother; but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be."
