Robert’s Story

At Alliance Medical Ministry(AMM), Robert is not just another patient—he’s a fighter. Battling both Type 2 Diabetes and hypertension, Robert knows firsthand how cruel this disease can be. His father, who suffered multiple amputations due to diabetes, left a lasting impact on Robert. Determined not to follow the same path, Robert took control of his health, working closely with AMM’s dedicated team.

“AMM has saved my life and made it worth living. I feel better physically and feel better mentally.” Robert shares with gratitude.

For years, Robert sent his blood sugar logs to Nick, AMM’s Social Worker, and leaned on their regular conversations to stay on track. Over time, Robert’s A1C dropped from a dangerously high 11 to a life-saving 6—a transformation that was nothing short of remarkable. For Robert, it wasn’t just about the numbers—it was about accountability—not just to himself, but also to Nick.

Robert also took part in nutrition counseling with AMM’s Registered Dietitian, Jaycee. Together, they reshaped his relationship with food, giving him the knowledge to make better choices every day.

“The staff is so nice and the kindness really matters. People being interested in what you are saying. I know that when I go there, I will be met with kindness, and that helps a whole lot. I am so appreciative of that.”
