Dear Friend,
Thank you for standing with Alliance Medical Ministry. Your support makes possible a model of care that transforms lives by empowering patients to manage chronic disease—not simply through handing out prescriptions, but through education, coaching, and partnering with each person who walks through our doors. Health literacy is at the heart of this transformation.
Too many Americans face barriers to understanding their health. More than one-third of U.S. adults have basic or below-basic health literacy, yet chronic conditions account for nearly 90% of our nation's $5.3 trillion in annual healthcare spending. AMM meets this challenge with a high-touch approach: our medical assistants and care team members deliver personalized education, frequent follow-up, and practical coaching so patients gain the knowledge and confidence to manage medications, make healthy choices, and take control of their health.
The impact is remarkable:
- 76% of AMM patients report they always understand the instructions they receive to manage their health.
- 85% report they always understand why they are taking their prescribed medications.
- Patients participating in our Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) program reduced their average A1C levels by 35%, and diabetes knowledge scores increased from 32% before the program to 79% afterwards.
Technologies like CGMs are powerful teaching tools, but lasting change happens through the dedication of our staff who coach patients every step of the way. When people understand their health and have the support to put that knowledge into practice, they live healthier lives and avoid costly complications and emergency care—benefiting families, communities, and the healthcare system.
Thank you for making this life-changing work possible.
With gratitude,
Pete Tannenbaum,
AMM Executive Director
