Dear Friend,
There is always a lot going on in the great state of North Carolina. Here are some interesting facts that definitely play a part in the healthcare we deliver at Alliance Medical Ministry.
- North Carolina is the 3rd fastest growing state in the country and is poised to become the 6th largest state in the US.
- Wake County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the country, in addition to being the largest county in NC.
That happens because this is a great place to live- the Triangle provides exceptional quality of life, education, and medical care. But did you know that on the medical side, that:
- NC ranks as the 10th worst state for healthcare access in the country - worse than Mississippi, Alabama, and North Dakota.
- NC has the 10th highest percentage of residents who lack insurance.
- Last year, Forbes Magazine identified NC as the most expensive state in the country for healthcare, and another publication said that “In national healthcare rankings, NC is chronically ill."
I can't even wrap my head around that. Here in the triangle, world-class care and innovation are all around us—yet far too many in our community still can't access it.
Alliance exists to remedy that and address the 75,000 Wake County residents who do not have healthcare. More residents lack healthcare in Wake County than the entire populations of more than half of the counties in NC.
The strength of our community is measured not just by its growth, but by how we care for those in need. We’re grateful to have a community that recognizes that—and helps make this work possible.

Thank you to everyone who supported AMM last week at our event, Caring for Our Community: A Conversation with Lee Roberts. It was an incredible evening of learning and reflection on all that you’ve helped us accomplish.
As one of the largest Free and Charitable Clinics in North Carolina, AMM is providing lifesaving support to Wake County residents. In the past year, your support has enabled us to care for more than 2,100 unique patients, our neighbors here in Wake County, by providing access to compassionate, whole-person primary care for working, uninsured adults and helping to reduce health disparities.
Thank you for showing up to be part of the conversation, to celebrate, and to give in support of our community. Because of you, our community is stronger.

Congresswoman Deborah Ross
AMM was honored to receive a visit from Congresswoman Deborah Ross. During her visit, she toured the clinic, spoke with the staff, and participated in a roundtable discussion about chronic disease and access to care for our community's most vulnerable population. We are thankful that our representative has a deep understanding of how chronic disease affects our entire community.

Bees are Back!
After many years, the honeybees are back at AMM! We are so excited to be hosting hives of honeybees from Raleigh Bee Co. beside the AMM garden. The bees will aid in the pollination of the garden, while our farmer will be learning about how to take care of bees and how to process honey for our patients.
